Headland Hamburg

A day for the neighbourhood, art and culture organized independently of commercial interests. Created and brought to life by students at HafenCity University. The Headland Hamburg Festival is an urban culture festival for HafenCity and, at the same time, a stage for young and local artists and initiatives with an impact throughout the city. The festival took place for the first time in 2024. This year it is to be extended.

The Headland program consists of a development program and a festival program. There are various actors from the city and society who offer hands-on activities for young and old. From a children's program to inputs from the world of science, cultural contributions and presentations of the cuisine of regional restaurants. Headland is intended to offer the opportunity to come together and celebrate together. The music program is designed by young local bands and especially newcomers.

In the week before July 12, 2025, HafenCity University students will build pavilions and temporary installations on the site. This will be accompanied by an evening program of urban development, sustainability and hands-on urban design on the evenings of 08.07 - 11.07.2025. Everyone is just as welcome to attend as on the festival day itself!

Headland Saturday starts at 11 am with the hands-on activities and the children's program. The first workshops for young and old will start at midday, where they can get involved in sports, exchange ideas or learn great things. This year, we also want to set thematic priorities with the areas, city district, city garden and city studio. Among other things, it will be about commitment and a strong society, climate protection and, how fitting, culture in the district!

Great young artists will then take to the stage at around 4 pm! With drinks at student prices and an incomparable harbor panorama, students and neighbors can get to know each other or simply celebrate Headland!

Together with many local initiatives and associations, we are organizing this great day for our city. We look forward to welcoming all visitors! Free admission!
