Spherical harmonies and microtonalities between the Renaissance and modernity
Inspired by the idea of Renaissance "music of the spheres", the Ensemble Hourglass combines Renaissance music with contemporary works. It invites the audience to enter a concentrated and meditative state so that the effect of the music can unfold on the whole body. The highlight of the concert is a new work composed especially for Hourglass, demonstrating how music can not only be heard, but also physically experienced. In addition, the program explores historical microtonality through sonically provocative Renaissance compositions.
Students from the KISD - Köln International School of Design will design the stage set and concert experience.
On the same evening, the focus baroque concert "La chemise blanche | From the French royal court to modern Estonia" will also take place at VENTANA at 19:00-20:00. Combined tickets for both events can be purchased via eventbrite.de.
