Hedda

Hedda Gabler lives a life full of conventions. She is trapped: in her marriage, in her time and in a play. Hedda is anti-heroine, trailblazer and enigma at the same time. What drives her in her seemingly destructive actions? What makes her tick? Her longing? Her pride? Her actions? In his play, which premiered in 1891, Henrik Ibsen questions the values of his time - not only through the content, but also through the form and the relationship with his audience. The team around WORX director Heiki Riipinen does the same: they reload the play. Hedda's home and life become a "crime scene" in which the spectrum of traditional interpretations of relationships and being is expanded beyond the heteronormative.
