Heiner Müllers Quartett

In the organizer's words:

Heiner Müller's much reduced play Quartett from 1980 is based on the frequently filmed French novel "Dangerous Liaisons" from 1782 and deals with the brutal struggle of two people for love, sex and power. The Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont are aristocrats in absolutist France. The country is in a serious crisis. The revolution breaks out, Merteuil and Valmont hide in a hermetic room and are thus spared from the turmoil. Centuries pass, the two remain. The Third World War breaks out, the room becomes a bunker. Theater U34 is an association of theater makers that was formed in Tübingen in 1999, but is now spread all over Germany.
