Hêja Netirk & Rico Danta

Hêja Netirk, who comes from Kurdistan and lives in exile, made a name for herself with her debut EP Stranên Neşuştî ("Unwashed Songs"), in which she pursues a feminist approach to Kurdish songwriting. In her current project, Kîne em? - Who are we?, Hêja and Colombian Rico Danta, the master of beats and synthesizers, combine modern Kurdish poetry with traditional singing. The club concept developed by the duo takes the audience on a journey from Kurdistan to the port of Hamburg, with the unique sounds of Electro Tembûrvan Saîd and Profesoro Eray Çaylı.

Both are united by their approach to popular culture from a contemporary perspective. They are not only working on their musical project, in which they mix traditional Kurdish singing with electronic sounds, but also on music theater pieces (Der Hoffnungsvogel, JES Stuttgart; Nachteulen, Jeroma), in which they both participate as composers and performers. They are currently preparing their debut album entitled "Kine Em".
