Helge Schneider, musical clown and jazz musician of the modern era, assembles his life as a patchwork into a colorful film adventure. The camera, directed by Sandro Giampietro, offers the viewer deep insights into the artist's life and work.

With original recordings, super 8 or VHS, acted sketches and reality photos thrown in here and there, the film connects the present with the various stages of Helge Schneider's career. The music plays an essential role. A colorful series of live performances and clips produced especially for this film alternate with short statements by the artist.

A special feature of the film is also that, unlike usual biopics, no talking heads appear to praise the artist or even lie about him. The balanced mixture of the artist's many activities alone is captivating and offers an overall picture that is impossible to escape.
