As much as the past decade was characterized by a political shift to the right, there was a strengthening of feminist movements on a social level - a heyday of rebellion, the shared physical experience of community when taking to the streets and demonstrating resistance. It was a time in which new questions were asked about the understanding of gender and in which taboos that had been built up over decades were deconstructed; a time in which a new language was sought that could go beyond the framework of stereotypes, dissolve binary constructions and also take into account people, groups and topics that had previously been pushed into the realm of social invisibility.
The short films gathered in the "Good Girls No More" program were made over the course of the past decades and in part react to these changes, make contact with them attentively and sensitively, in part predict them, form the prelude to a swelling rebellion against narrow, oppressive social expectations and sketch out a genealogy of resistance.
