Chamber music by Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert & Kreisler

Welcome to the Munich Radio Orchestra's first chamber concert at a new venue, the Künstlerhaus am Lenbachplatz!

On this evening, three central works caress the ear with the typical warmth of the Viennese string trio sound: Based on a piano sonata, Haydn's Opus 53 No. 1 for violin, viola and cello unfolds plasticity and volume of sound. In his Serenade op. 8, Beethoven found a fusion of stylized dance and classical form. Reminiscences of Mozart and Haydn characterize Schubert's fragmentary Trio, D 471, which concludes with three sweets from the pen of the Viennese-born violinist and cosmopolitan Fritz Kreisler: "Liebesleid", "Liebesfreud" and "Schön Rosmarin".
