Music touches the soul, and regardless of whether there is a cognitive or physical limitation, enjoying music together is almost always possible. Music can play a key role in dementia and can provide access where language can no longer. It can evoke memories and appeals to the emotions of all people equally. Heart Music" is a relaxing hour for those affected, relatives, carers and the whole family. The concerts take place in the barrier-free foyer of the Philharmonie Mercatorhalle and are particularly suitable for music lovers who need assistance or simply want to enjoy a concert in the afternoon.
With a diverse program, the klasse.klassik senior series is aimed primarily at older music lovers across all generations. In addition to the popular "Herzmusik" concerts and the accompanied "Plus" profile concerts, the tandem projects "Hör mal Kunst" and "Hör mal ein Buch" in cooperation with the Lehmbruck Museum and the Duisburg City Library enrich the range of music education for young and old.
