More than 30 years have passed since the genocide in Rwanda, but Dorcy Rugamba's book Hewa Rwanda appears today as one of the most authentic accounts of what happened. In this deeply moving musical reading, Rugamba recounts the life of his family, which was wiped out on the morning of April 7, 1994. He is accompanied by the musician Majnun. Hewa Rwanda is an intense narrative about family, culture, spirituality and resilience.

Dorcy Rugamba-author, actor and director-lives and works between Brussels and Kigali. In 2012, he founded the Rwanda Arts Initiative in Kigali, a cultural center and platform dedicated to bringing together Rwandan artists and professionalizing local art production. In 2019, he wrote and directed the opera Umurinzi for the official ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide. In 2024, together with the Rwanda Arts Initiative team, he launched the inaugural Kigali Triennial.
