HfK Jazzclub: Wahlpflichtcombo

The choice - it is at the heart of improvised music. Which tone, which phrase, which rhythm.

Loud or soft. A lot, a little or not at all. The freer it is, the greater its weight. The Wahl-Pflicht Combo experiments with prominent pieces of 70s jazz from musicians such as Margot and Keith Jarrett to Herbie Hancock.

The "hfk jazzclub" is the venue for contemporary jazz in Bremen. Concerts and sessions with musicians from the university and local and national musicians take place every Tuesday of the semester at 9 pm in the basement vault of the University of Music. Passionate jamming takes place here, or student tryout programs are presented. Semester projects by the Rehearsal Band and themed concert programs are also offered. In short: a think tank for jazz and a meeting place for Bremen's jazz scene.
