HHIS 2025: Hamburg's innovation scene invites you to a summit meeting

On July 10, 2025, the Oberhafenquartier will become a hotspot for future topics and practical solutions

The Hamburg Innovation Summit (HHIS) is celebrating its tenth anniversary on July 10, 2025 - and invites you to join in with the campaign "Denkste! Innovation begins with curiosity." It invites innovation enthusiasts from business, science, politics and society to the largest innovation event in the metropolitan region. In the Oberhafenquartier, bold ideas meet concrete application examples on over 1,800 square meters of Expo Area and six stages. Admission is free of charge.

Under the motto "Innovations made in Hamburg - worth sharing with the world", HHIS 2025 brings together players from corporations, start-ups, (higher) education institutions, SMEs and the skilled trades. The program includes forward-looking topics such as Artificial Intelligence & Quantum Computing, Novel Food, Mobility & Urban Development, Crafts 4.0, Climate and Energy, Advanced Material, Social Innovation, Entrepreneurship, War of Talents and Health & Lifestyle.

Technology meets the future: AI, talent and Hamburg's first quantum computer

Special highlights this year: the new AI Hub and a dedicated talent area, where artificial intelligence meets real-life practice and digital matchmaking, and young talent meets companies. Also present: Dr. Frederike Fritzsche, Chief Tech Transformation Officer at the Otto Group and HHIS ambassador, with a plea on how young people, especially women, can be inspired for the tech industry. In addition, the Hamburg Fraunhofer Institutes will present the strategy for the first quantum computer in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg at HHIS. The HHIS thus impressively demonstrates how technological innovation, social responsibility and the promotion of young talent work together.

Society in transition: social innovation and new working environments

While the AI Hub and the talent area highlight specific fields of application and career paths in the tech industry, other HHIS ambassadors build a bridge to the social dimension of innovation. HHIS ambassador and Germany's coolest teacher Emmanuel Krüss will give an insight into the digital world of social innovation. As a successful TikToker, he describes his view as a teacher in a humorous way and also expresses himself socially. His motto: stay curious and ask questions to find answers that make the world a better place, both technically and socially. HHIS ambassador Dr. Hans Rusinek, work researcher, organizational consultant and Fellow of the Club of Rome Germany, sees himself as a bridge builder. He mediates between the worlds and, as a "pracademic", addresses the question: How can we bridge the knowledge-action gap for better, evidence-based working environments? For him, innovation arises at the fine line between idealism and pragmatism. Those who can do both are innovative.
