The common GDR citizen was not allowed to travel. They traveled the world by train, Interflug, Trabi or hitchhiking - to the East. Bulgaria and Hungary in particular quickly became the Mallorca and Tuscany of the vacation-ready East German workers
The reading offers a selection of the most beautiful postcard texts ... how East German tourists experienced their "best weeks of the year". Whimsical, funny, euphoric, often refreshingly banal. Just vacation greetings. Collected by Georg Keim, read by him together with Gisa Bergmann.
