Celebrated by jazz critics and loved by pop fans alike - British singer/songwriter Hohnen Ford achieves what is a balancing act for many artists seemingly effortlessly. With just two EPs to her name, she has already established herself as one of the UK's most exciting new voices, moving playfully between genres, moods and poetic lyricism.

Ella Hohnen-Ford, now 27, was born and grew up in bustling North London. She studied jazz singing at the renowned Royal Academy of Music and graduated with distinction. During this time, she already made a name for herself in the versatile London jazz scene: as a bandleader, singer and composer. She was always passionate about performing live on stage and sharing her music directly with the audience. But when the pandemic hit, this was suddenly no longer possible. So she looked for a new outlet: she performed her own compositions and covers on the piano in livestreams - and gained an audience of millions along the way. At the same time, she developed her very own sound in her home studio, combining jazz standards with more modern influences such as Björk and Joni Mitchell. This can already be heard in full maturity on her debut EP "Infinity", released in 2023. The pieces are reduced and intense at the same time. Mostly just her unmistakable voice and her piano, nostalgic and warm at the same time.

With her second EP "I Wish I Had A God" (2024), she opened up her sound spectrum even further: the arrangements became bigger, the songs more complex, the songwriting even more poetic and honest. Backed by a live band, she now artfully combines harmonious jazz melodies with contemporary bedroom folk-pop. The best example of this is her current single "A Lot To Give", a duet with British singer Birdy - a calm, thoughtful song about growth, identity and female resilience. Following support tours for Orla Gartland and Wasia Project as well as a celebrated performance at the Reeperbahn Festival, she even accompanied world star FINNEAS on their European tour at the beginning of the year. The next highlight follows in the fall: Hohnen Ford goes on her own tour through Europe - with three concerts in Germany.
