New alchemy - alugraphy prints
For the special exhibition "Otto Mueller"

We will be introduced to a mysterious chemical process that enables several prints to be made from one original drawing. How does it work? With oil pastels, cola and aluminum foil, hence the name "alugraphy"!

Lithography was invented back in 1798 as a lithographic printing process and is based on the phenomenon that fat and water repel each other. The relatively complex planographic printing technique with polished stone plates has since lost its significance. Otto Mueller was a professional in this field: he trained as a lithographer, making graphic art an important part of his art. We take a close look at his prints in the exhibition and design our own motifs in the studio!
