Home is where the Art is: Eine Werkschau junger Kultur

In the organizer's words:

Home is where the Art is, or Home Art for short, is aimed at young people who want to perform in a cozy living room atmosphere and all those who are interested in the art of young people.

Here you can try out new things, gain your first stage experience or talk about your own artistic work. But well-known faces from Regensburg's cultural landscape are also always part of the program, showing their skills and giving an insight into their current works, projects and ideas.

There are usually four performances per evening (so-called slots) curated by W1, which consist of a short interview with the moderation duo Anna Haimerl and Sebastian Schillallis and a performance of up to 10 minutes.

In addition, two so-called "open slots" are offered, which invite spontaneous performances. These also consist of a 5-minute interview and a performance of up to 10 minutes.

In contrast to the fixed slot, no sound check is possible due to time constraints. In this respect, the technical effort should remain manageable. The W1 guitar is available for musical contributions if required.

There is no guaranteed performance here, as it always depends on how many people are interested in an open slot.

The W1 invites you to a relaxed get-together, provides drinks and snacks as well as a colorful bouquet of contributions.

Application:

In order to create an evening that is as varied as possible, it is generally not possible to apply for a specific date.

All applications end up in a pool from which the fixed slots are selected well in advance of a Home Art event. W1 therefore asks all interested parties to send an application with the following information to jungekultur@regensburg.de:

• Name
• Type of performance (music, language arts, film, dance, theater, etc.)
• Any technical or room setting requirements
• telephone number
• age

Applicants will then receive an appointment request by e-mail. In this, they are asked to inform W1 of all dates on which a performance is conceivable.

This way, the Home Art Team is informed of all the desired date(s) and can contact applicants well in advance of the relevant event.
