Hommage an Kafka

In the organizer's words:

Franz Kafka, who was born in Prague in 1883, was only known to insiders during his lifetime. It was only after his death in a hospital in Vienna in 1924 that his fame in the international literary world grew immeasurably. No other German-language writer of the modern era is as highly regarded around the world as Franz Kafka, in the USA as well as in China. No other writer has achieved such iconic status.

The Cosmos Factory theater production pays homage to this magician of language, the 100th anniversary of whose death is on June 3. Actors Judith Mann and Oliver Peuker will read from the unfinished novel "Amerika" and allow a contemporary of Kafka in Prague at the beginning of the 20th century to meet the great author, whose work, despite all its abysses, always contains cheerful, comic and grotesque moments. But the one is inconceivable without the other.

Judith Mann
Actress, singer and dubbing artist. Trained as an actress in Hamburg. Engagements at the Hebbel Theater Berlin, Kampnagel Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Prinz-Regent-Theater Bochum, among others. Various readings, radio plays for WDR and RBB. Member of the ensemble in various Cosmos Factory productions. Lives in Hamburg.

Oliver Peuker
Oliver Peuker has worked for many years as an actor, director and producer at the Cosmos Factory theater production in Teufelsmoor. He is also frequently on the road in northern Germany with his reading programs (including Edgar Allan Poe, Joseph Moncure March and Joachim Ringelnatz).
