HOW TO BE NORMAL AND THE ODDNESS OF THE OTHER WORLD
AT 2025 - 102' - DF - Director: Florian Pochlatko
Freshly released from a psychiatric ward, Pia (26) moves back into her parents' house on the outskirts of Vienna - only to realize that she is not the only one whose life has gone off the rails. Her parents, Elfie and Klaus, are also struggling to keep up in a constantly changing world. In the daily struggle for survival with a shaky new job, ongoing heartbreak, her medication and social stigmatization, Pia stumbles into a reality that feels as uncertain as her inner life. Gradually, her transformation begins - into a monster that threatens the world ... or perhaps a heroine destined to save it?
Who decides what is normal? How to Be Normal and the Oddness of the Other World is a melancholy yet light-hearted exploration of identity, family and self-discovery, following the example of a young woman in search of inner balance and meaning in an uncontrollable world.
