A musical-philosophical salon evening

This very special salon evening is not only musical, but also philosophical: based on the fundamental ideas of humanism, the well-known philosopher and former Minister of State for Culture and Media Julian Nida-Rümelin explores the extent to which Beethoven can be considered a humanist. In turn, pianist Maharani Chakrabarti will perform a selection of Beethoven's piano sonatas and attempt to clarify, from the composer's perspective, to what extent this way of thinking is also recognizable in his instrumental music.
