19th century, in the Midwest of the USA. When his farm explodes, successful applejack dealer Jean Kayak decides to try his hand at fur trapping! With his ingenious traps, he takes up the fight against vicious raccoons and intelligent, man-sized beavers. But when he falls in love with the daughter of a fur trader, his father-in-law demands a high bride price: Jean is to deliver beavers to him, hundreds of them! The only problem is that the beavers are much smarter than the inexperienced fur hunter...
