An interdisciplinary musical theater about life after love.

Two people. Two worlds. And a soundtrack that gets under your skin. Inspired by Nina Simone and Frank Sinatra, I Did It My Way tells of love, contradiction and change. She - a black woman - fights passionately for change and justice. He - a white man - clings to the familiarity of his past. Their feelings are not expressed in words, but in music: duets, solos, great emotions. On stage: Larissa Sirah Herden (Lary) and Lars Eidinger - accompanied by a big band and four dancers. Staged by Ivo Van Hove - the artistic director of the Ruhrtriennale 2025. An evening between protest and poetry. Between jazz and longing. Between awakening and stagnation.

The Ruhrtriennale is the festival of the arts in the Ruhr region - a festival for all those who long for tomorrow. Touching experiences of music theater, drama, dance and more are created between machine halls and blast furnaces.
