"Me! different" - A dance theater project for creative identity development
Transformation, role models, strengths and weaknesses, identity, who do I want to be?
What happens when I wake up and suddenly become someone else? And not just anyone, but perhaps the person I want to be. Maybe even a superhero, a fantasy creature or I suddenly have the abilities of my role model, my idol?
The dance theater project "Ich! mal anders" enables a 4th grade class to explore their own identity in a creative way. The central question is: Who am I - and who could I be?
Through dance, movement and drama, the pupils discover new ways of expressing themselves and look at themselves from different perspectives.
Improvisational exercises help them to experience the "familiar self" and an "other self" through dance. Together, the children develop a choreography that makes their individual personalities visible on stage. Music, movement and theater merge into a creative experience that not only strengthens self-awareness, but also class cohesion.
The project culminates in a public performance in which children and adults gain an insight into the diversity of individual identities. "Ich! mal anders" combines artistic self-awareness with dance creativity and invites you to rethink identity.
