Our parents just don't do what we want! We have so much patience with them, explain everything to them in detail and yet: it just doesn't work. "I want it this way!" invites you to think together about how parents can raise their children. In addition to sweets, toys and fun, we want us children and our imaginations to be taken seriously. Even the monster under the bed! Who knows where it can take us ...
The production of "Leute wie die" plays with the topic of parenting from the perspective of children and uses humor to create a world in which children direct, control and shape what happens. With "I want it this way!", they create a theater experience in spoken and sign language in which multilingualism becomes an adventure.
The Junges Theater Münster sees itself as a place for questions, debate and the creation of identity. Stories are told that allow us to broaden our horizons and expand the scope for our actions. With school and family performances, workshops and participatory projects, the theater encourages young people to think utopias and endure ambiguity. The performance collective "Leute wie die" brings together deaf and hearing artists who artistically interweave sign language and spoken language and explore the potential of this connection. Their pieces can be experienced by deaf and hearing audiences together.
