The cinema documentary "SIEBENSEKUNDEN" takes viewers into the world of ski flying, the supreme discipline of ski jumping with flights of well over 200 meters - a discipline that was previously reserved for men only.
After years of fighting for equal rights, the best female ski jumpers in the world are preparing for a historic event: The film accompanies Katharina Schmid née Althaus (GER) and Eva Pinkelnig (AUT) on their way to their first flight from the world's largest ski jump and leaves no doubt about the passion and conviction of the two top athletes.
In her directorial debut, camerawoman Martina Di Lorenzo is close to the two exceptional world-class talents during an extraordinarily successful season and, in addition to training and competition, also provides private insights into the lives of the athletes. A film that shows the physical and mental challenges of the two women in competitive sport and accompanies them in their fight for equal rights in skiing. "SIEBENSEKUNDEN" and its maker Martina Di Lorenzo encourage women and girls to stand up for their dreams.
The film was funded by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and celebrated its German premiere in Oberstdorf at the end of May. Since then, it has been touring cinemas in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

"At 95 minutes long, the film is not boring for a second, because the Swiss filmmaker has done top research, gives pioneers like Eva Ganster and Carina Vogt a chance to speak, lets Schmid and Pinkelnig speak in their dialect (with subtitles) and builds a great dramaturgy up to the first women's ski flying event in Vikersund in 2023. [...] Overall verdict: Absolutely worth seeing! A must-see for ski jumping fans," summarizes the Allgäuer Zeitung.

Martina Di Lorenzo initially worked as a primary school teacher in her native Switzerland before realizing her dream of becoming a camerawoman. At the age of 33, she began studying cinematography at the ifs International Film School in Cologne. For the image design of her graduation film "Alter Egon", she was awarded the young talent prize at the German Camera Award. Together with Thorsten Gruna and Jan Barthel, Martina Di Lorenzo is managing director of the film production company WAVE.FILM. She made her directorial debut with "SIEBENSEKUNDEN".

Thorsten Gruna studied Digital Film Making at the SAE Cologne and Media Production Technology at the TH Cologne. In 2012, he went on to study cinematography at the ifs International Film School Cologne. Today he works as a lighting designer, cameraman and editor. Together with Martina Di Lorenzo and Jan Barthel, he is managing director of the film production company WAVE.FILM, which produces commercials and music videos. He is not only responsible for the editing of "SIEBENSEKUNDEN", but also contributed significantly to the creation of the film with his support and ideas.
