I'M BLUE (DA-BE-DEE) · Cyanotypie Workshop

In the organizer's words:

Before there were digital cameras, there were analog cameras. And before that? The cyanotype aka blueprint - an imaging process without a camera!

In this course, you will learn how to make your own photograms. We will produce our "photo paper" together using the appropriate chemicals, experiment with different motifs and practise the exposure and development process of cyanotype.

We start with a short introduction to the history and functioning of cyanotype. We will then treat our carrier papers with the appropriate chemicals and familiarize ourselves with the exposure and development process.

Then there will be time to experiment with your own motif ideas and the parameters of the exposure process. Depending on the weather, we will expose outside in the sun or in the studio with UV lamps.

All the necessary materials are included in your course fee.

You are welcome to bring your own motif ideas (objects, photo negatives, drawings, ...) or use my stock on site. You can also bring your own paper or other supports (fabric, wood, ...) to experiment with. You can find my collection of ideas and inspiration on this Pinterest board.

After you register, you will receive another info PDF with all the important information about the process, details of possible motifs and suitable print carriers.
