At NIO House Düsseldorf, we will introduce you to three organizations that individually and collectively offer different formats to support artistic actors and initiatives - from concrete funding to the provision of production spaces and networks to cross-disciplinary international joint productions:

The Academy for Theater and Digitality was founded in 2019 as the sixth division of Theater Dortmund. As a unique and central point of contact for specialist knowledge relating to the combination of theater and digital technologies, it is established worldwide and an important hub for networking and the ongoing development of digital transformation in the cultural sector. At the heart of its work is the question of how digital technologies can be used in theatrical spaces on, behind and in front of the stage. It concentrates on four core areas: artistic research and development, professional training and further education, cultural policy advice and national and international cooperation with art and cultural institutions, festivals and actors in the independent scene.

The Kulturforum Witten operates in a network of cultural institutions, including the library, the Märkisches Museum, the city archive, the music school and the renowned event venues Saalbau and Haus Witten. Since 2020, Witten has been working on new forms of art production and cultural promotion: Together with the local urban community, new collaborative forms of cooperation are being tested on an equal footing. Particular attention is being paid to digitality as an art form.

The fellowship "No end to the road", which is based in Witten, helps to enable young interdisciplinary artists and producers to exploit the full potential of digital media and the diverse connections in the region. It supports immersive art, electronic music, pop-cultural varieties from gaming to content creation as well as post-digital, performative and digital arts.

The NRW Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Künste (LFDK e.V.) is the mouthpiece, advocate, promoter and service provider for the independent performing arts scene in NRW. The state office consists of more than 400 members, represents the cultural policy positions and interests of the scene, awards funding on behalf of the state of NRW and is actively involved in other funding programs, offers a qualification program and organizes the biennial FAVORITEN festival.
