Things are going haywire at Lake Wolfgangsee: Waiter Leopold is madly in love with his boss, the resolute Rößl landlady Josepha Vogelhuber. But she only has eyes for the Berlin lawyer Dr. Siedler. He, in turn, is more interested in Ottilie, the daughter of the bizarre jersey manufacturer Giesecke, who actually wants to shoot Siedler to the moon because of a patent dispute. While Josepha flirts with Siedler, Leopold suffers in silence - until he takes heart and is summarily fired. But at Lake Wolfgang, heart and happy endings are never far away: Ottilie and Siedler get together, Giesecke forgets his anger and even Josepha finally realizes that Leopold is the one for her.
In the "Bar jeder Vernunft" version, the classic operetta is cheekily dusted off: wry humor and a dash of anarchy turn this Alpine romance into a turbulent spectacle - catchy tunes guaranteed!
