IMAGINE! 2025 | Antje Horn: Von hohen Mauern und mutigen Kindern

In the organizer's words:

Once upon a time there was one country - no, actually there were two countries - or was it one?

These two halves were separated by a high wall, which was guarded by a dangerous dragon. There was an east side and a west side. Lena lived on the east side - near the wall.

One day, Lena decided to pay a visit to the west side. I wonder how that turned out?

Wrapped up in a fairytale-like story, Antje Horn tells of the division of Germany and the fall of the Wall. It becomes clear that this was due to the childlike courage of individuals who were prepared to go into battle without weapons against an overpowering opponent and to stand by each other. Suitable for children aged 5 and over.

Antje Horn grew up in the GDR. The apartment of her family of five was small. There was no television, but lots of books. Her parents let her grow up with countless stories from all over the world. The country's borders were closed. Nevertheless, even as a child she traveled through distant lands and inner worlds from her loft bed.

During her many years of work in child and adolescent psychiatry, Antje Horn began to discover and utilize the power of storytelling in a therapeutic setting. Today she works as a freelance storyteller, gives workshops and tells stories (not only in Germany) for people of all ages.

She is the initiator and artistic director of the international festival NARRARE.
