IMAGINE! 2025 | Hakaya 2.0: Feuer, Wasser, Sturm النار العاصفة الماء - im Anschluss Offene Erzählbühne

In the organizer's words:

As part of IMAGINE! 2nd International Festival for Narrative Art in Chemnitz, Dresden & Leipzig

Inspired by the fairy tale "The Fisherman and his Wife", we follow the child of a poor fisherman's family as he desires more and more prosperity at the insistence of his family, until they end up living isolated from each other in an ultra-modern city of concrete and steel. Although the warning is clear and the end is already known, everyone involved hurtles towards the abyss. In the end, the elements threaten to unleash their destructive power, leaving the audience with questions about our relationship with nature and the balance in the world.
The piece is a mixture of narrative art and physical theater. The performance duo Hakaya 2.0 combines theater and performance with oral storytelling in Arabic, Kurdish and German in a unique way.

In the second part of the evening, the stage is free for anyone who has a story to tell.

Storytelling: Hakaya 2.0 - Mohammed Kello (DE/SY) & Annika Füser (DE)

Notes:

  • The event will be held in German, Kurdish and Arabic spoken language. All languages are welcome at the open storytelling stage.
  • The Box Office opens one hour before the start of the event (no ticket payment possible).

He has worked as a translator and social care worker, he completed the Artistic Storytelling certificate course at the UDK Berlin in 2021. He is currently studying social work at Alice Salomon University and works at Moabiter Ratschlag.

Annika Füser (Cologne - Germany, 1988) has been telling stories to her little brother since she was 7. She is now a freelance storyteller, theater educator and director in Berlin. She studied Liberal Arts
in Maastricht and Rio de Janeiro and later studied theater pedagogy in the Master's program and artistic storytelling with Ragnhild Mørch at the UDK Berlin.
