Improvisation und Pädagogik: Wie lässt sich Improvisation lernen und lehren?

In the organizer's words:

We show ways to learn and pass on improvisational knowledge and skills, to understand the essence of improvisation through playing practice and analysis.
Inspired by several years of collaboration with Prof. Dr. Peter Jarchow, Heidemarie Wiesner and Raffael Kircher offer this course, which can be used either as a workshop or as further training for educational professionals.

The main prerequisite for participation is an open, inquisitive attitude.
Musical knowledge and skills are helpful but not essential.
You can/should bring your own instruments.

Thematic focus:

  • Exercises in leading a group improvisation
  • Methodology of improvisation pedagogy
  • Playful-experimental approach to musical parameters: meter/rhythm/tempo, harmony, melody, dynamics, style, form
  • Playing according to programmatic guidelines: Themes from literature, philosophy, haikus, fairy tales, moods, visual arts, colors, dance, numbers, the impossible, contradictions
