Dry British humor meets German clichés - welcome to the life of Liam Carpenter and his wife Valérie. Born in England, Liam moved to Germany around ten years ago to further his career as a professional basketball player: a culture shock that he and Valérie deal with via social media and their joint podcast. She, the German part, and he, the British part, play humorously with the cultural differences they experience on a daily basis. Whether it's the deposit bottle system, the ubiquitous shock ventilation or the meticulous separation of waste - the two always take a tongue-in-cheek approach to typical German everyday situations. Liam skillfully slips into the role of the British observer, while Valérie takes on the German point of view. Together they mix ideas and provide insights into their life together. While Liam initially juggled between his work as a creator and his basketball career, as his social media popularity grew, he eventually realized that his heart beat more for content creation. This is noticeable: His format "In Germany we don't say" has long since achieved cult status on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
