However, in order to be able to show visitors paintings, sculptures, graphic works or design objects in this form, museums sometimes have to go to great lengths. In the run-up to an exhibition, it is not only necessary to repair any damage to the exhibits or to prevent this during transportation. It is also necessary to ensure that they are stored permanently under the most stable climatic conditions possible, to consider different requirements for their public presentation and to take precautions against other possible causes of damage.
