Dominick Cobb specializes in penetrating other people's dreams in order to steal their thoughts. Now the powerful businessman Saito hires him to accomplish something almost impossible: Cobb is to implant a thought into one of Saito's competitors. Together with a team, Cobb has to dive three dream levels deep into the alien consciousness. But something goes wrong. And then there is Cobb's dead wife and the omnipresent grief that seems to pull him out of reality.
