Indiecon 2025 – Independent Publishing Festival – "Where do we go from here?"

In the organizer's words:

Haven't we already had these conversations?
About the climate crisis and the danger of authoritarian systems, about gender equality, freedom of expression and an open society?
In 2025, Indiecon asks the question:
"Where do we go from here?"

Indiecon is the international festival for independent publishing - a place to get to know new magazines, books, podcasts, zines, websites, newsletters and narrative forms.

Over three days, from September 5 to 7, 2025, publishers of digital, analogue and hybrid publications from all over the world will meet in Hamburg's Oberhafen to design alternative futures, renegotiate narratives and strengthen their shared network.

What characterizes "so-called Women*'s Magazine", how desire and aesthetics become forces of resistance or how a new economic narrative develops around a publication - these and other topics will be discussed in talks with publishers. Publications such as "Troublemakers" from Japan or "Icarus Complex" from Luxembourg will introduce themselves in speed dating. This year's Indiecon line-up is once again international and diverse, including the newly founded environmental magazine "atmo" from Hamburg, the art book collective "51 Personae" from Shanghai and the fashion and society magazine "Yonderland" from Lagos, Nigeria.

Visitors will gain insights into the international indie publishing scene, discover new publications, talk to the creators of the independent magazines and listen to all the talks on the main stage. Entry to the festival is still free of charge.

If you would like to delve deeper into the topic of independent publishing, you can purchase one of the 100 limited trade visitor tickets . These give you access to workshops, roundtables and expert talks - as well as breakfast together in the breakfast club to start each festival day in a relaxed manner.

Indiecon 2025 creates spaces for exchange, networking and collaborative action. It's about what's possible - the potential that lies in the question: "Where do we go from here?"

Admission to Indiecon is free of charge.
