Informationsveranstaltung zum genossenschaftlichen Wohnen in der WEICHE - Osnabrück

With the Lok-Viertel, a new urban quarter is being created in the immediate vicinity of Osnabrück's city center. The first housing project to be launched on the 22-hectare site is WEICHE, a cooperative community project that combines social, sustainable and self-determined forms of living. For anyone interested in becoming a member of the cooperative or learning more about the concept, a public information event will take place on May 20, 2025 at 4 pm in the INNOVATORIUM of the Coppenrath Innovation Center.
The WEICHE cooperative housing project aims to create sustainable and affordable living space. A total of around 80 residential units with different floor plans and sizes are to be built by mid-2028. A commercial space on the first floor will be available for community-oriented services or creative workspaces. The new building will be realized in modular construction in order to create living space quickly and in a future-oriented manner. The components used are made from sustainable and durable materials such as wood and recyclable building materials, which ensure a healthy indoor climate and a low environmental impact.
The initiators of the cooperative project are GLS Bank, based in Bochum, which is providing significant support for the financing, KVL Projektentwicklung Plus GmbH from Berlin, which is responsible for project management and control, and the Münster-based architectural firm Thiel. "As a social-ecological bank, we see cooperative housing projects as a key response to the challenges of today's housing market. The project in the Lok-Viertel combines social responsibility with sustainable construction and a lively neighborhood - we support this out of conviction," explains Benedikt Altrogge, Sector Coordinator Housing at GLS Bank.
At the event on May 20, 2025, those responsible will present the concept, the current planning status and the opportunities for active participation. "The event will focus on the presentation of the project and the building plot in the Lok district, the most important information on the cooperative model and membership, as well as statements on financing and the timetable," explains Luana Cortis, Managing Director of KVL Projektentwicklung Plus GmbH. "We want to make it clear to interested parties that, together with GLS Bank, we offer a trustworthy overall package consisting of an existing plot of land, financing clarity and participation.
