In the foyer of the Galerie der Gegenwart, the Hamburger Kunsthalle presents the work "Ngày tàn... Đêm lên (Day Wanes... Night Waxes / The day draws to a close... Night falls)" by the artist Truong Công Tùng. He is the recipient of the Philipp Otto Runge Fellow 2024. The fellowship supported Truong's artistic research in the Central Highlands of Vietnam and the production of artworks as part of the presentation of a new installation at the Hamburger Kunsthalle. Truong Công Tùng (*1986) grew up in Dak Lak among various ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. His work contains personal observations that reflect the cultural and geopolitical changes of modernization.
The installation can be visited free of charge in the foyer of the Galerie der Gegenwart until September 14, 2025.
