»Intermedia an der Ecke« | Talk & Live-Musik

It is a long way from the clubhouse of the "National Front" to the "Klub an der Ecke" and today's naTo. In an interview with Götz Lehmann, who began working here as a janitor in the early 1980s to subversively convert the clubhouse and later became the club's founder, the special nature of the development of this place of continuous cultural work is recounted. With a focus on the role of improvised music and its integration into a wave of intermedia formats that were performed here in the 1980s. From the performative actions carried out with free jazz by the group 37,2 to Lutz Dammbeck's thematically charged productions with various jazz musicians and multi-media, cross-genre post-punk projects that broke free in a completely new way.

One of the people often involved in these intensive actions was jazz guitarist Rainer Kühn, who was still living in Leipzig at the time. He brought together illustrious guests for the subsequent concert: Willi Kellers (dr), Heiner Reinhardt (sax/bcl) and Meinrad Kneer (bg). This also brings us back from the past to the moment to be celebrated in the here and now.
