Look forward to the family program accompanying the exhibition "On the road again! The world of our truckers" on International Museum Day. Special guest and our partner for Museum Day: Stadtreinigung Dresden (SRD).
Program:
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What waste garbage cans are there in Dresden and which waste goes in which garbage can? You can test your knowledge at the waste advice stand with the waste separation game and the question wheel. Because waste can only be recycled if it ends up in the right garbage can. And that's the best thing for our environment. As a reward, there is a small prize for everyone who takes part.
Have you ever played mini golf with a real battery-powered leaf blower? The #TeamOrange from Stadtreinigung Dresden is looking forward to seeing you with their famous mini e-golf. And if you prefer crafting, you can let off steam with the SRD waste car craft sheet.
Get to know the city's quietest refuse truck, the all-electric eEconic.
10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
With our special exhibition "On the road again! The world of our truckers", not only a truck, tires and much more have moved into the Transport Museum, but also some mice. Can you find them? Go in search of the mouse holes of our museum mice.
10:30, 11:30, 14:30, 15:30 and 16:30
Trucks are indispensable. Almost everything we need and use has been on a truck at some point on its way to us. Our cities and their inhabitants, businesses and stores depend on delivery traffic. Truck drivers keep the (goods) world running, they are the backbone of trade and the transportation system. But who knows the drivers? And what does their day-to-day work look like? In the guided tour through the exhibition "On the road again. The world of our truckers" you will find out.
11, 12, 14, 15 and 16 hrs
Jean-Pierre Strijbos comes to the Stallhof with his 17-metre-long truck and shows children in the parking area there how to behave when encountering a truck on the road. He will show them the dangerous areas around a truck, the safety systems in the truck and how they help the driver to become aware of dangers. The children are also invited to sit in the driver's seat to understand what a truck driver sees and does not see.
More than 200 locomotives, wagons and carriages, including railroad legends such as the "Schienenzeppelin" or the "Saxonia", run through a 325m² miniature world.
