In the organizer's words:

International Museum Day under the motto "Worth reading!"

Under the motto "Worth reading!", a selection of books and texts dealing with the history and culture of Silesia will be presented. From 12 noon to 2 p.m., Varvara Disdorn-Liesen will present a selection of children's and youth books that creatively bring Silesian landscapes, legends and historical events to life. From 3 p.m., works by contemporary Silesian authors will be discussed under the moderation of Natalia Staszczak-Prüfer, providing a deep insight into the region and its multifaceted history. Weather permitting, the event will take place in a museum railroad carriage - the ideal place to experience how the stories "get going". After all, a good book is like a train: it takes you to unexplored places.

International Museum Day is an annual event celebrated worldwide to raise awareness of museums and their importance to society. It has been organized by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) since 1977 and always takes place on the third Sunday in May.
