Musical journeys into other worlds - Glaswald concerts are sound expeditions for musicians and audiences alike. The roots of the collective, founded in Basel in 2004, lie in free improvisation. The original duo (Wolfgang Kirchheim: guitar, guitar synthesizer; Martin Pohl: keyboard instruments & sequencer) is complemented live by a diverse pool of guest musicians - the ensemble's sound thus remains in constant flux from concert to concert. Stylistically, Glaswald moves between ambient, herbaceous electronics and dreamy post-rock.
In the past, the ensemble has collaborated with Krautrock legend Mani Neumeier, played a container concert at thedocumenta and accompanied numerous films live at various silent film festivals over the years.
On May 20, bassist Siggi Holiday(Irie Révoltés), drummer Marco Tecza (Dr. Mogel) and performance & vocal artist Sirius Sonorus (@obnoxious_bulb) shape the sound of the ensemble.
It's not worth missing a Glaswald concert.
