""Haribo Kimchi" is a refined and lived performance about life in a country that is not your own. Not only love, but also melancholy goes through the stomach." Floris Baeke and Charlotte De Somviele, De Standaard, 03.08.2024

"'Haribo Kimchi' is a performance that is as clever as it is authentic about living in a country that is not one's own. The way not only to love, but also to melancholy is through the stomach." Floris Baeke and Charlotte De Somviele, De Standaard, 03.08.2024

A heart-warming journey through kimchi culture and the contradictions of cultural assimilation: in Haribo Kimchi, Jaha Koo takes the audience to a typical South Korean late-night snack bar, where a YouTuber, an eel, a snail and a rice stove tell touching and absurd anecdotes about migration, home and the power of food. Jaha Koo combines music, video and robotic performers to create a sensual live cooking experience that changes the perception of food.
