Beethoven Cycle I

It is these dream projects that characterize the programme of the ProArte International Soloists subscription: Jan Lisiecki, for example, who would like to perform all five Beethoven piano concertos and the Triple Concerto with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields on three evenings, and of course we will make the Elbphilharmonie available to him as soon as possible. The Beethoven roundelay - excitingly complemented by works by British composers with a direct connection to the program - kicks off with the contrasting piano concertos Nos. 1 and 3 in C major and C minor. The Canadian-Polish pianist was already able to shine alongside the Academy in 2018 when he spontaneously stepped in for Murray Perahia, who was ill. Deutsche Grammophon decided to turn the live recording into an album - and the rest is history. And with this season also part of ProArte history!
