Jane’s Walk in Köln

For the second time, FUSS e.V. Cologne, RADKOMM e.V. and VCD Cologne are inviting people to take part in Jane's Walk in Cologne: a public city walk that encourages people to see their surroundings with new eyes. Jane's Walk 2025starts on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Willy-Millowitsch-Platz (Ehrenstraße/Apostelnstraße) and takes about 90 minutes through the Belgian Quarter to Friesenplatz.

In the tradition of Jane Jacobs, the legendary city activist and urbanist, the walk explores places where the city comes alive - where people meet, stories emerge and public spaces develop their character. Participants are invited to contribute their own observations, experiences and perspectives. It is not about a classic city tour, but about an open, shared exchange at eye level.

Jane Jacobs (1916-2006) was convinced that if you really want to understand a city, you have to experience it on foot. With her observations, her commitment and her focus on the human scale, she set new impulses for liveable urban planning worldwide. Jane's Walk, which takes place annually around the world, brings these ideas to the streets and squares of our cities - organized on a voluntary basis and open to all.
