Dear friends of the Kulturwerft,

We cordially invite you to our next tea ceremony with the tea master Mrs. Suzuki on 07.02.2025 at 19:00 in Kaiserstr.4 (left entrance, 3rd floor). Duration approx. 1.5 hours. Admission costs 25 euros, including matcha (green tea) and Japanese pastries.

A Japanese tea ceremony takes place at the beginning of the year.

The tea ceremony is the "way of tea" (Chado) taught in Japan since the 16th century, which was introduced by Zen monks to improve concentration during meditation. Since then, this way of drinking tea has developed into an art form with high standards. The focus is on the ritual of tea preparation and the relationship between guest and host, which should convey a special harmony in the perfection of the ceremony.

Michiyo Suzuki-Kubiak is a tea master and holds the tea ceremony every year at Kaiserstraße 4.
