Jazz Rock Pop Festival
July 2+3, 2025

The Artheater in Cologne-Ehrenfeld will open its doors on July 2 and 3, 2025 for the "Jazz Against The Machine" festival, which has now been taking place for 17 years. Originating from the jazz/pop department of the Cologne University of Music and Dance, the student festival offers a stage for unique musical ideas, concepts and forms of expression.

The festival has always impressed with a variety of genres from jazz to rock to pop and its program shows what moves the students of the music university. Personal, political, musical or poetic themes are combined or take place side by side on the same evening.

The promising line-up brings student energy and the joy of music to the Artheater: the bands "inshi", "Lillith Walkenhorst Quintett", "Lilli Kornhuber Project", "TADDAY", "Tryfon Typou Quintett" and "Pentalog" ensure varied moments and unforgettable concerts. Each band brings its own musical signature: the quintet "Pentalog" around trumpeter Felix Bork convinces in the style of modern jazz with flowing melodies and artful solos, the "Tryfon Typou Quintett" shows excitingly boundary-breaking free jazz and with TADDAY a rousing pop act presents itself.

Three bands will present their music each evening for an entrance fee of €10 (standard price) and €6 (reduced price). Expect two unforgettable evenings full of inspiration, creativity and community - united by music.
