Jazz at JAKI: Renner

Two brothers and a kindred spirit: the Renner trio presents an unusual constellation on this evening. The trombone-bass-drums line-up is not an inflationary phenomenon in jazz history. Moritz Renner, Tabea Kind and Valentin Renner make excellent use of the spaces that open up without a harmonizing instrument.
The interplay between the three creates the perfect symbiosis between freedom and well-paced precision. You can always hear how close the instrumentalists are. The winners of this year's "Biberacher Jazzpreis", convince "with intelligent compositions, emotional and virtuoso playing and a warm and transparent sound", which can be musically categorized in the genre of modern jazz.
