JAZZ CITY BILK 2025 - Trio Cachamay

Latin American jazz fusion music trio. Flute/electronic wind instrument (María Mendoza - Venezuela), vibraphone/percussions (Bruna Cabral - Brazil) and bass/guitar (Eduardo Lara - Brazil). Together they play Latin American rhythms and add the unique elements of jazz to pass on the cultural heritage of their countries of origin.

"Cachamay" is a word with ethnic origins in Latin America. In some countries it means "gentle rain", in others "herbs that do good". The group uses it to catalyze and present its repertoire.

MARÍA MENDOZA

María Mendoza, Venezuelan flutist and EWIstin (Electronic Wind Instrument), studied flute at the Sistema de Orquestas de Venezuela. She has won prizes at international competitions and recently became a candidate for the Master's degree in Jazz Improvisation at the Folkwang University of the Arts (Essen-Werden).

BRUNA CABRAL

Bruna Cabral, Brazil, is a talented multi-instrumentalist and composer specializing in drums and percussion. She holds a bachelor's degree in percussion from the Universidade do Estado do Pará and a master's degree from the Folkwang University of the Arts.

EDUARDO LARA

Eduardo Lara, Brazil, began his musical journey with the electric bass and was active in various ensembles. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik Saar and continues his studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.
