Jazz-Kultursommer mit INSWINGTIEF

In the organizer's words:

On Thursday, May 22, 2025, the award-winning Würzburg ensemble INSWINGTIEF will perform in the beer garden of the Waldschänke Dornheim.

The quartet will present its brand new live program, consisting exclusively of original compositions in a style between acoustic gypsy swing and world music, at one of its personal favourite venues. In the following weeks, the ensemble goes into the recording studio to produce the new album.

The musicians Thomas Buffy (violin), Stefan Degner (electric jazz guitar), Sabrina Damiani (double bass) and Felix Leitner (gypsy guitar) provide their audience with a sophisticated and entertaining concert experience in a relaxed and informal manner, but with the highest quality standards. The likeable quartet offers its visitors swing and gypsy jazz with borrowings from world music, bossa nova and blues. Even a pinch of tango and folk will occasionally be heard by the attentive listener.

Versatile compositions, tasteful arrangements and solos, beautiful interplay, great attention to detail and the utmost joy of playing - Inswingtief succeeds with ease and has also won over the critics. In 2020, the band was voted the best musical discovery of the year by listeners of the Bavarian radio station BR2.

The current studio album was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award and took the band to Calvados (FR) as cultural ambassadors for Lower Franconia. In addition, the band was awarded the Cultural Medal of the City of Würzburg for its many years of voluntary work as part of the Würzburg Gypsy Jazz Jam Session in the fall of 2024.

The ensemble is currently working on a completely new concert program and is preparing its 5th album. Music like a plate of good pasta - simply makes you happy!
