Jazzclub Live Special: HMT Big Band

In the organizer's words:

"A taste of jazz history - traditional and modern, please!"

Ordered, served: the incomparable arranger and composer Rolf von Nordenskjöld has been leading the HMT Big Band since 2001. Every semester, he and his ensemble members venture into the deep realms of modern jazz and swing, while remaining completely open to the pop cultural influences of the past decades.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of experiencing the ensemble live several times will know that no two programs are the same. And so this time there will be new compositions by Nordenskjöld as well as pieces from the pens of Toshiko Akiyoshi, Bill Holman, Thad Jones and Bob Mintzer. This year's live performance will be rounded off by the expressive voice of Sophiia Sytnyk.
