Jazzmatazz w/ When I Return

When I Return is a young and bold septet that draws strong inspiration from the vibrant jazz scene in New York. The band is led by Brede Sørum and Jørgen Bjelkerud, who also compose the music for the group. Their sound is smart, cheeky, and lively, featuring young, curious musicians who want to engage you as a listener. In the spring of 2023, When I Return went on their first tour, performing at venues such as Kampenjazz in Oslo, as well as in Arendal and Trondheim. The band consists of seven of Norway's most exciting young musicians, all with backgrounds from the Jazz Program at NTNU in Trondheim. They can also be recognized from bands like Cosmic Swing Orchestra, Dafnie, Schemes, Lightning Trio, Dykdypp, and Pesh.
